BJD party lodge an F.I.R before The Director General of Police.
Subject matter is to for action against culprits Involved in repeated attacks on Former MLA Pranab Balabantaray.
They have narrated
We are writing to express our deep concern and strong condemnation regarding the repeated, organized, and violent attacks on former Dharmasala MLA Pranab Balabantaray. The most recent and alarming incident occurred on 13th April 2025 in Arua village during the Hingula Maa Darshan. Despite prior intimation to the S.P Jajpur, and the presence of local police including the Jenapur IIC, Shri Balabantaray was subjected to a brutal and assault.

This is not an isolated event it marks the seventh such attack on Shri Balabantaray’s life. Previous incidents have included attacks on his residence, vehicle, and party office. Despite several FIRs lodged in the past, it is extremely unfortunate that no meaningful action has been taken.

According to eye witness accounts and media reports, the organizers of the 13th April attack were allegedly BJP workers and associates of the local Dharmasala MLA Shri Himansu Sahu, including known mining mafia members Manoj Samal and Ratikant Jena.
Video footage clearly shows the recovery of swords, bhujalis, and lathis by the IIC Jenapur at the scene. However, it is deeply concerning that instead of arresting the culprits on the spot, the police allowed them to walk free. Despite clear evidence, no action has been taken against those involved.
As stated by BJD worker and leader.

A high-level inquiry into the role and inaction of local police officials present during the incident.
Deployment of additional security for Shri Pranab Balabantaray considering the repeated attempts on his life.
Departmental action against the concerned SP, SDPO, and IIC for failure to act on prior information.
It is stated by the BJD workers.
